Why do successful people almost never achieve their results alone?

Whatever your goals and ambitions in life, do you believe that you are solely responsible for the results you get?  Or do you feel that you have close friends and family who advise, support and guide you?

I recently worked on some research in conjunction with Links of London, the official jewellery company for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.  The research identified that many successful people have a support network of around five people.

These five people may have different roles: they may inspire you, support you, mentor you, or be people you can escape with or confide in.

I talk about this more alongside Paralympic athlete Sarah Storey in the video (being interviewed on Channel 5 by presenter Myleene Klass).  So, who’s in your circle of 5?
